Therapy for Women
Struggling with relationships or motherhood? You may feel like you're just surviving. Together, we'll explore your busyness, avoidance of boundaries, and people-pleasing tendencies. As a trauma therapist, I'll use a relational approach informed by my background in Women’s and Gender Studies, plus experience in sexual assault advocacy and domestic violence.
Anxiety and Depression: Many women experience anxiety and depression throughout different stages of life, including motherhood, divorce, or aging but don’t feel empowered to pause and provide themselves the space to externalize their needs.
Body Image and Self-Esteem: Struggles with self-worth and societal pressures regarding appearance can feel never ending. Let’s work together on a deeper love for self and radical acceptance.
Relationship Issues: Life and joy can be challenging when we have distress in our most important relationships, especially romantic relationships, friendships, family dynamics, and work relationships.
Work-Life Balance: Challenges in managing career aspirations, family responsibilities, and personal time can lead to burnout and lack of satisfaction. It’s important to create goals and expectations that really speak to your personal desires in order to cope with stress from work, family and societal expectations.
Trauma, Abuse and Grief: Therapy can be a safe, confidential space for processing past trauma, including sexual assault, domestic violence, or childhood abuse. Dealing with the death of a loved one or the loss of a relationship can also be traumatic and can require specific processing.
Identity and Empowerment: As a relational, feminist therapist, it’s important to me to create space for you to explore how your gender and cultural identity affects your mental health.
Reproductive Health: Issues related to pregnancy, infertility, menopause, and other reproductive health concerns can be difficult to talk to medical providers about. Together, we can create a deeper understanding of your needs.
